Softy or Strict

Are you the parent that your kid(s) always runs to when they fall and scrap their knee or are sad OR are you the tough parent that goes by the "you will be okay" philosophy?  Well I am definitely the soft parent.  I am not sure if this all started because E was my first baby or if I am just a sucker for a baby crying.  Now with that being said, I never smothered her or let her do whatever she wants.  We have rules in our house and do use the word "no", but sometimes I just give in (yes I admit it).

I  just love when she runs up and hugs me or grabs my hand to walk with her.  On the flip side, in the morning trying to get ready with a kids hanging off my leg is hard.

How did you find the happy medium or were you even able to?
